Day 1 – May 10, 2025 | Depart Home
The time has come for our Iceland Adventure! Board our coach at one of our pre-selected pickup locations this afternoon for Pearson International Airport. Here we will board our overnight flight from Toronto to Reykjavik, Iceland!
Day 2 – May 11, 2025 | Reykjavik (D)
On arrival in Reykjavik this morning, our local guide will await to begin our incredible journey through Iceland. You will have some free time today to explore Reykjavik’s bustling city centre on your own. Tonight we will enjoy a welcome dinner at our hotel.
Day 3 – May 12, 2025 | Reykjavik to Borgarnes (B,D)
Begin your day with an short tour through Reykjavik, Iceland’s vibrant capital city. Next we’ll depart the city for Hellisheiðarvirkjun where we will explore a geothermal power station and learn about Iceland’s innovative use of renewable energy sources. We’ll also marvel at the natural wonders of Geysir, where we’ll sample local snacks and a glass of Geysir Schnapps. Continue your adventure with a visit to the magnificent Gullfoss waterfalls, capturing breathtaking photos of the cascading waters. This afternoon we’ll take a scenic walk through the rift valley of Thingvellir National Park, where you can stand on two different continents simultaneously. This unique geological site offers a rare opportunity to witness the separation between the North American and European tectonic plates, providing captivating insights into Iceland’s extraordinary natural landscape. Tonight we’ll have an included dinner.
Day 4 – May 13, 2025 | Borgarnes to Akureyri (B)
As we depart from Borgarnes, our journey takes us to Hauganes, where we’ll stop for an exciting whale-watching cruise through Eyjafjörður Bay. Here we will search for magnificent humpback and minke whales, as well as playful dolphins surfacing in the glassy waters. After this thrilling experience, we’ll continue onward towards Akureyri, ready to continue our exploration of Iceland’s stunning landscapes and wildlife. Tonight dinner will be on your own in Akureyri.
Day 5 – May 14, 2025 – Akureyri to Egilsstadir (B, D)
In Akureyri, our day begins with an orientation walk, which will include a visit to the beautiful botanical gardens, where we can immerse ourselves in the tranquility of nature. Following this, we journey onwards to witness the awe-inspiring “Waterfall of the Gods,” Goðafoss. Get your cameras ready to snap of shot of these majestic cascades. Our scenic drive continues to the stunning blue Lake Mývatn, offering breathtaking views of its serene waters. En route, we’ll have the opportunity to photograph Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall (weather and road conditions permitting). After this memorable day of exploration, we head towards Egilsstadir where we will spend the night. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 6 – May 15, 2025 | Egilsstadir to Hofn (B, D)
As we depart from Egilsstadir, our journey to Höfn promises stunning scenery along the way. We will make a stop in Höfn to learn about the mythical Lagarfljótwurm, a serpent-like creature said to protect a hidden treasure near Lake Lögurinn. While here, soak in the natural splendour of this charming fjord town, known for its sheep farming, fishing heritage, and vibrant music festivals that are integral to its cultural tapestry. Tonight we’ll stay in Hofn and enjoy dinner here as a group.
Day 7 – May 16, 2025 | Hofn to Vik (B, D)
Today’s itinerary takes us to Lake Jökulsárlón, where we’ll have the opportunity to photograph the breathtaking Vatnajökull Glacier. Our scenic drive continues through Skaftafell National Park, offering glimpses of Iceland’s stunning natural beauty. We’ll pause at Lake Jökulsárlón to capture the awe-inspiring sight of Vatnajökull, Iceland’s largest ice cap, as it flows into the lake, creating a mesmerizing scene that’s sure to leave a lasting impression.
Day 8 – May 17, 2025 | Vik to Reykjavik (B, D)
Today’s journey takes us through the scenic Vik area, offering panoramic views of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, known for its dramatic eruptions, including the notable 2010 event that disrupted European air travel. Along the way, we’ll stop to capture the majestic Seljalandsfoss waterfall on camera. As our tour comes to an end, we’ll return to Reykjavik for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant, where we can reminisce about our unforgettable adventures in Iceland.
Day 9 – May 18, 2025 | Depart for Home (B)
Our time in Iceland comes to an end this morning after a hearty breakfast at the hotel. We’ll be transported to the airport this morning to board our flight home. On arrival in Toronto, our coach will await us to return us to our original pickup locations!
A deposit of $750 is due at the time of booking. Final payment will be due by February 26, 2025 at the latest. Prices are subject to change. Cancellations received before February 26, 2025 will result in a loss of all deposits. Cancellations received February 26, 2025 or later are 100% non-refundable. Please note that this is an active tour. We suggest you are able to: Walk 4-5 km over the course of a day with no problem, partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour (covering up to 3km), handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills without assistance and climb two flights of stairs with ease. This tour is not suitable for those with mobility constraints. Seat selection on flights is not available.
