Day 1 – May 14, 2026 | Depart Home
The time has come for our Iceland Adventure! Board our coach at one of our preselected pickup locations this afternoon for Pearson International Airport. Here we will board our overnight flight from Toronto to Reykjavik, Iceland!
Day 2 – May 15, 2026 | Reykjavik (D)
On arrival in Reykjavik this morning, our local guide will await to kick off our Iceland Adventure. Begin your day with an short tour through Reykjavik, Iceland’s vibrant capital city before checking into our hotel this afternoon. This afternoon we will depart for a whale watching cruise in search of different kinds of whales and seabirds. You will have some free time today to explore Reykjavik’s bustling city center on your own this afternoon before an included welcome dinner this evening.
Day 3 – May 16, 2026 | Reykjavik to Borgarnes (B,D)
Next we’ll depart the city for Hellisheiðarvirkjun where we will explore a geothermal power station and learn about Iceland’s innovative use of renewable energy sources. We’ll also marvel at the natural wonders of Geysir, where we’ll sample local snacks and a glass of Geysir Schnapps. Continue your adventure with a visit to the magnificent Gullfoss waterfalls, capturing breathtaking photos of the cascading waters. This afternoon we’ll take a scenic walk through the rift valley of Thingvellir National Park where you can stand on two different continents simultaneously. This unique geological site offers a rare opportunity to witness the separation between the North American and European tectonic plates, providing captivating insights into Iceland’s extraordinary natural landscape. Tonight we’ll have an included dinner.
Day 4 – May 17, 2026 | Borgarnes to Akureyri (B)
After breakfast we will depart from Borgarnes, and drive through Borgarfjörður, a site of the old Sagas. We stop at the waterfalls Hraunfossar (Lavafalls) and Barnafossar before we continue our tour to the north. We pass the Skagafjörður district, famous for its horse breeding and history.We’ll continue onward towards Akureyri, ready to continue our exploration of Iceland’s stunning landscapes and wildlife. Akureyri is only 100 km away from the Arctic circle and is a surprisingly green community with lots of vegetation and a
famous Botanical Garden. By many people Akureyri is considered the country’s most beautiful town. This afternoon, you will have the option today to visit Glaumbær Heritage Museum paying homage to the history of Iceland’s past history. Tonights dinner will be on your own in Akureyri.
Day 5 – May 18, 2026 – Akureyri to Húsavík (B, D)
In Akureyri, our day begins with a short tour of the city, before heading onwards to the awe-inspiring “Waterfall of the Gods,” Goðafoss. Get your cameras ready to snap of shot of these majestic cascades. Our scenic drive continues to the stunning blue Lake Mývatn, a famous bird sanctuaryoffering breathtaking views. After this memorable day of exploration, we will finish in Húsavík where we will spend the night. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 6 – May 19, 2026 | Húsavík to Hofn (B, D)
Next, we visit Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall (road conditions permitting). From there, we head east across the empty Jökuldalsheiði plateau into the green Fljótsdalur valley. We’ll pass through Fagridalur and stop at Lagarfljót, said in Icelandic folklore to be home to a giant mythical lake monster. Then we continue south to Höfn, where we’ll spend the night.. Tonight we’ll stay in Hofn and enjoy dinner here as a group.
Day 7 – May 20, 2026 | Hofn to Vik (B, D)
After breakfast, we head south of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. We’ll take a thrilling Zodiac boat ride through the iceberg-filled Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Then we continue to Skaftafell National Park and cross Skeiðarársandur, Iceland’s largest outwash plain. After passing Kirkjubæjarklaustur and dramatic lava fields, we arrive in Vík for dinner and an overnight stay. Tonight we will have an included group dinner!
Day 8 – May 21, 2026 | Vik to Reykjavik (B, D)
Today’s journey takes us through the scenic Vik area, offering panoramic views of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano on clear days – known for its dramatic eruptions, including the notable 2010 event that disrupted European air travel. Along the way, we’ll stop to capture the majestic Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls on camera. As our tour comes to an end, we’ll return to Reykjavik for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant, where we can reminisce about our unforgettable adventures in Iceland.
Day 9 – May 22, 2026 | Depart for Home (B)
Our time in Iceland comes to an end this morning after a hearty breakfast at the hotel. We’ll be transported to the airport this morning to board our flight home. On arrival in Toronto, our coach will await us to return us to our original pickup locations!

Please note that this is an active tour. We suggest you are able to: Walk 4-5 km over the course of a day with no problem, partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour (covering up to 3km), handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills without assistance and climb two flights of stairs with ease. This tour is not suitable for those with mobility constraints. Seat selection on flights is not available.
