Deerhurst Resort – A Fall Colour Getaway

Join us on a short fall getaway to Muskoka, often referred to as the best place in Canada to view fall colours.

On our first day we’ll enjoy a nice lunch in Bancroft before entering Algonquin Park to take in the beautiful changing leaves and enjoy a leisurely guided stroll along the famed Spruce Bog boardwalk. We’ll take a trip to Haliburton where some of the highlights include the Haliburton Sculpture Forest, the Wolf Centre and the Haliburton Museum! Our home base will be Deerhurst Resort where we’ll spend two nights set amongst the towering pines in the heart of Muskoka. Take time to enjoy the resort and take in the surrounding kaleidoscope of colours. On our final day, we’ll travel to Huntsville to visit the Muskoka Heritage Place which features museums, pioneer buildings and more. Be sure to take in the best fall splendour and beauty that Ontario has to offer!

Day 1: Depart to Deerhurst & Algonquin Park (D)

Join our motor coach this morning at one of our pre-determined pickup locations before heading North! We’ll make our way to Bancroft for a lunch stop (on your own) before heading into Algonquin Park – Ontario’s first and largest Provincial Park. While in Algonquin, we’ll meet a park ranger for a guided 1.5km leisurely walk along the Spruce Bog boardwalk. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for moose and listen for loons as we make our way through the towering pines and rich fall colours! After our drive through Algonquin, we’ll make our way to Deerhurst Resort where we will check in for the next two nights. This evening, we will enjoy an included dinner at the resort.

Day 2: Haliburton Wolf Centre, Sculptures & Museum (B, L, D)

This morning we’ll have an included breakfast at the resort before heading out for a day of exploring. Today we’ll be taking a day trip to Haliburton to explore the sites and take in the fall colours. Our first activity of the day will be the Haliburton Wolf Centre where we will learn more about wolf behaviour and enjoy an included lunch. Afterwards, we will experience a guided tour through the Haliburton Sculpture Forest. Here we will stop to admire unique outdoor sculptures by Canadian and International artists. Our final stop will be the Haliburton Museum, where you can learn about the storied past of this beautiful region. This evening we’ll return to the hotel to enjoy another included group dinner. After dinner the rest of your night will be at leisure to enjoy the resorts amenities or to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings!

Day 3: Muskoka Heritage Place & Return Home (B)

This morning we’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and making our way to Huntsville, Ontario. Here we will visit the Muskoka Heritage Place which features two museums, 18 authentic pioneer buildings and more all situated on a beautiful 90-acre site. Afterwards, we will head to Orillia where you will have some free time at the Mariposa Market to grab lunch (on your own). Then we begin our journey home to our original pickup locations and bid farewell to new and old friends!
