Day 1: Depart for Algonquin Park & Deerhurst Resort (D)
Join our motor coach this morning at one of our pre-determined pickup locations before heading North! We’ll make our way to Bancroft for a lunch stop (on your own) before heading to Algonquin Park – Ontario’s first and largest Provincial Park. Here we will visit the Logging Museum and Visitor’s centre. This museum tells the story of logging from the early square timber days to modern forestry management. Take a step back in time by curling up in the bunk of a reconstructed logging camp or examine logging tools and equipment, all while guided by a Park Naturalist dressed as an 1830s White Pine logger. Following the logging centre, we’ll make our way to Deerhurst Resort where we will check in for the next two nights. This evening we’ll enjoy an included dinner at the resort.
Day 2: Huntsville, Sugar Bush & Muskoka Heritage Place (B, L, D)
This morning we’ll have an included breakfast at the resort before heading out for a day of exploring. Today we’ll be taking a day trip to Huntsville to explore the sites and take in the fall colours. Our first activity of the day will be a guided tour of the Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm, a state-of-the-art sugaring operation in the heart of Muskoka. Here you’ll learn about how this family run industry processes their 100% pure maple syrup year in and year out. Afterwards, we will stop for lunch at one of Huntsville’s most charming restaurants, the Mill on Main. Our next destination will be Muskoka Heritage Place to see the Rotary Village Train Station and Steam Museum. Enjoy a half hour diesel train ride and a self-guided tour of this impressive establishment. Browse through hundreds of artifacts that once were in the hands of those who shaped Huntsville. In the evening we’ll return to the hotel to enjoy another included group dinner. After dinner the rest of your night will be at leisure to enjoy the resorts amenities or to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings!
Day 3: Return Home (B)
This morning we’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and making our way home. On the way, we will head to Orillia where you will have some free time at the Mariposa Market to grab lunch (on your own). Then we continue our journey home to our original pickup locations and bid farewell to new and old friends!
