For an active walking tour exploring history and nature, come with us to Dundurn Castle in the morning followed by an afternoon at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Dundurn Castle was once home to Sir Allan Napier McNabb, Premier of United Canadas 1854 – 1856. A guided tour takes you through this 40-room Italianate-style villa built in 1830. Here you will discover a different way of life through the story of the McNabb family who lived above stairs and the servants who lived and worked below stairs. After an included lunch at the Dutch Mill Restaurant, we will visit the Royal Botanical Gardens. You’ll enjoy the guided tour strolling through a spectacular display of roses and companion plants at the Rose Garden in Hendrie Park. What a lovely way to spend a summer day!
