Join us for a five day getaway to Lancaster, Pennsylvania during harvest time when the air is crisp and seasonal baked goods are plenty.

Lancaster is celebrated for its rich heritage as the oldest Amish settlement in the United States, offering a unique glimpse into a simpler way of life. Take a step back in time to experience time-honoured traditions in one of the most unique destinations in America. View Amish country from a different perspective on the historic Strasburg Railway ride. Experience a production of ‘Daniel’ at the state-of-the-art Sight and Sound Theatre in this brandnew stage production. Take part in the always popular ‘Chalk Talk’ with the famed artist Elva. Shop for locally made and grown products and witness some of the most beautiful covered bridges in the country. And you certainly won’t forget the many Pennsylvania Dutch family style meals included throughout the week. We’ll spend 4 nights at the Amish View Inn surrounded by traditional Amish farms. A valid Canadian passport is required for this tour.

Please note that this is a fairly busy tour with longer days and as such is not suitable for those with limited mobility.

Day 1 – Sunday October 27 | Home to Lancaster, PA (D)

Board the coach at one of our predetermined pick-up locations today and begin the journey into the United States. Today is a great opportunity to mingle with your fellow passengers as you get prepared to explore America’s oldest Amish settlement. Along the route we will make comfort stops before arriving at the Amish View Inn in Lancaster where we will spend the next 4 nights. After check-in, we will enjoy an included family style Amish dinner as a group at Plain & Fancy Restaurant.

Day 2 – Monday October 28 | Amish Farmlands and Strasbourg Railroad (B, D)

Begin your day with a buffet breakfast at our hotel before departing for a tour of Lancaster. We’ll travel through the Amish Farmlands and explore charming covered bridges along the way. Enjoy a leisurely lunch on your own today. This afternoon, take a ride on the iconic Strasburg Railroad – an authentic steam locomotive that passes through Pennsylvania Dutch countryside and farmlands. Later this afternoon we will return to our hotel for some time to relax and refresh. This evening we’re off to Paradise Station for a delightful dinner and comedy show about life in Lancaster!

Day 3 – Tuesday October 29 | Lititz Town (B, D)

Start your day with a tasty buffet breakfast at Amish View Inn. Then, meet up with our local guide for a tour around Lititz Town, exploring the charming spots it has to offer. You will have some free time to explore and shop including time for lunch on your own. Be sure to check out the Wilbur Chocolate Store and Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery. Get creative this afternoon with a Chalk Talk session at Elva’s Studio before heading to Shady Maple Smorgasbord for a delicious dinner. To wrap up the day, we will return to the Amish View Inn for some free time to relax and regroup!

Day 4 – Wednesday October 30 | Amish Country and Sight & Sound Theatre (B, D)

Begin your day with a buffet breakfast at Amish View Inn before departing with our local guide to explore more of the picturesque Amish Farmlands including a visit to an Amish Quilt & Craft Shop. After our tour we will visit the Kitchen Kettle Village – home to over 40 different shops and restaurants. Here you will have time for shopping and lunch on your own. After lunch we will head to the Sight & Sound Theatre for the captivating performance of “Daniel”. From the fiery furnace to the infamous den of lions, DANIEL is a spectacular theatrical experience. After the show we will have some time to relax at the hotel before heading out for an In-Home Amish Dinner.

Day 5 – Thursday, October 31 | Lancaster to Home (B)

It’s time to say goodbye and indulge in one last breakfast at our hotel and make our way home. There will be scheduled comfort stops along the route before being dropped off at your original pick-up locations. Bid farewell to new and old friends, until the next great tour!
