Itinerary

Day 1 – April 15, 2026 | Depart Home

The time has come for our Peru Adventure! Board our transfer vehicle at one of our pre-selected pickup locations this evening for Pearson International Airport. Here we will board our direct overnight flight from Toronto to Lima, Peru.

 

Day 2 – April 16, 2026 | Lima

Arrive in Lima Peru this morning. Our local guide and driver will await to take us to our hotel to drop our bags and freshen up. Later on we will enjoy a guided city tour of Lima to get acquainted with the area.

 

Day 3 – April 17, 2026 | Lima (B)

Today is yours to explore Lima on your own. You can visit Plaza Mayor to see beautiful old buildings and learn about the city’s history. Food lovers may opt to try fresh seafood at a local restaurant or take a local cooking class. If you prefer the outdoors, take a walk along the ocean in Miraflores or visit Barranco, a colourful neighbourhood with street art and cozy cafes. No matter what you choose, Lima has plenty of history, culture, and delicious food to enjoy.

 

Day 4 – April 18, 2026 | Lima – Cusco (B)

Hop on a flight to Cusco. Enjoy a free day of shopping and exploring the city. Choose to prebook the Cusco Cooking Class. Take a transfer to the airport for the flight to Cusco. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring this fascinating city.

 

Day 5 – April 19, 2026 – Cusco – Sacred Valley (B, L)

Enjoy a full-day guided tour of the Sacred Valley, beginning with a visit to the G Adventures supported women’s weaving co-op, where you can learn about traditional textile techniques. Continue to a local pottery-making community to see artisans at work before stopping for lunch at the G Adventures-supported Parwa Community Restaurant in Huchuy Qosco, where you’ll enjoy a delicious, locally sourced meal. After lunch, take in stunning views of the nearby Ollantaytambo ruins, reflecting on the rich history and culture of the region.

 

Day 6 – April 20, 2026 – Sacred Valley – Aguas Clients (B)

After breakfast board a morning train that winds through the spectacular Urubamba Valley to the end of the line: the village of Aguas Calientes, a frontier town nestled in the hills beneath Machu Picchu. Enjoy the rest of the day taking advantage of the hikes and hot springs in the area or perhaps visit the famed local market. For those interested in the 1-day Inca Trail Hike, you would disembark the train at kilometre 104 and make the 6- hour journey. *This does require and permit and would have to be booked in advance at an additional cost*

 

Day 7 – April 21, 2026 | Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)

Start early to visit the ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu. Tour the ruins with an expert guide before returning back to Cusco. Start early to catch the sunrise at the top. Take the bus up to the historic spiritual centre of the Incas, the ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu. Tour the ruins with an expert guide then explore on your own.

 

Day 8 – April 22, 2026 | Cusco (B)

Today we will have a full day in Cusco and will enjoy a local city tour to learn more about this fascinating and ancient city. The rest of your day will be at leisure to explore on your own.

 

Day 9 – April 23, 2026 | Cusco – Tambopata (B, L, D)

Fly to Puerto Maldonado and transfer by motorized boat to an Eco-Lodge in the Amazon, deep in the Tambopata Rainforest where we’ll spend the next two nights. After a brief stop in town, travel along the river, spotting diverse bird species along the way. Upon arrival, meet the local staff and naturalist guides, who will share insights into the region’s rich biodiversity, traditional uses of medicinal plants, and sustainable jungle practices.

 

Day 10 – April 24, 2026 | Tambopata (B, L, D)

Enjoy guided excursions led by expert naturalists to spot wildlife at nearby oxbow lakes and clay licks. Spend some time relaxing in a hammock, enjoying the local swimming hole or visiting a nearby plantation. This evening opt to go for a caiman-spotting cruise after dinner.

 

Day 11 – April 25, 2026 | Tambopata – Lima (B, D)

Fly back to Lima after breakfast this morning. Today is our last-full day in Peru so enjoy some
free time this afternoon before an included final dinner as a group!

 

Day 12 – April 26, 2026 | Depart for Home (B)

Our time in Peru comes to an end today. We’ll be transported to the airport early this morning

Please note that this is an active tour. We suggest you are able to: Walk 4-5 km over the course of a day with no problem, partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour (covering up to 3km), handle a variety of terrains, from dirt/gravel trails to moderate hills without assistance and climb two flights of stairs with ease. Altitude may also be a factor for some. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure! This tour is not suitable for those with mobility constraints. Advanced seat selection on flights is not available.
