Join us for an incredible 18 day tour through the picturesque scenery of Northern Canada & Alaska.

You will spend 10 days on land driving from Whitehorse, Yukon through Denali National Park before arriving in Anchorage, Alaska where we’ll board the Norwegian Jade for a week at sea. Explore off the beaten path on this seamless Yukon & Alaska trip that goes far beyond the expected. Explore the Yukon Territory, and the heart of the Klondike Gold Rush in Dawson City. Cross into Alaska and visit Fairbanks, Denali National Park, and Tok while searching for bear, moose and caribou along the roadways. Witness nature at its most enticing with glacier fed lakes and inspiring mountains. Our Yukon & Alaska tour will leave you with hundreds of unique moments to capture, keep and treasure forever. This trip will feature rarely seen vistas, spectacular mountain passes and glaciers galore. Itinerary

Day 1 – July 11, 2025 | Arrive In Whitehorse, YK (D)

Board our coach at one of our pre-determined pickup locations bound for Toronto Pearson Airport where we will depart on our flight to Whitehorse. Upon arrival in Whitehorse – Yukon’s Capital City, you will be transferred to the famous Gold Rush Inn, located in downtown Whitehorse. After the hotel check-in, with an inspiration of the North, we will have a guided tour through the MacBride Museum. There will also be a tour briefing this evening and our first group dinner to prepare us for the adventures to follow.

 

Day 2 – July 12, 2025 | Dawson City, YK (B, D)

After breakfast in Whitehorse, visit the SS Klondike paddle wheeler and the Visitor Centre to explore Yukon’s history. Travel north on the Klondike Highway, passing Lake Laberge, Carmacks Riverfront Boardwalk, and Five Finger Rapids. Arrive in Dawson City, the heart of the Klondike Gold Rush, and enjoy an evening at Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall complete with live can-can performances.

 

Day 3 – July 13, 2025 | Dawson City, YK (B)

Start the day with a tour of Dawson City and the goldfields, including Dredge No. 4 and breathtaking views from the top of the Midnight Dome. Return downtown for dinner on your own and perhaps take an optional visit to Bombay Peggy’s, home of the famous Sour Toe Cocktail!

 

Day 4 – July 14, 2025 | Tok, Alaska (B, D)

Travel north to Alaska via the “Top of the World Highway,” stopping for lunch in the quirky town of Chicken, named after the state bird – the ptarmigan. This afternoon we’ll continue to Tok, where the Eagle Trail meets the Tanana River, once traveled by sternwheelers. Enjoy an included dinner at the hotel.

 

Day 5 – July 15, 2025 | Fairbanks, Alaska (B, D)

Start the day at Santa Claus House in North Pole, Alaska, to mail postcards before heading to Fairbanks. Enjoy a scenic sternwheeler cruise on the Chena and Tanana Rivers, featuring bush plane demos, the “wedding of the rivers,” and a tour of the Chena Indian Village. In the evening, visit Alaskaland for a baked salmon dinner and a musical revue at the Palace Theatre.

 

Day 6 – July 16, 2025 | Denali National Park, Alaska (B, D)

Begin your journey to Denali National Park this morning, with stunning views of Mt. McKinley on clear days and photo opportunities galore along the way. Pass through Broad Pass, the highest point on the railroad, where caribou migrate in the fall. Explore Denali National Park, home to diverse wildlife like wolves, moose, and bears. End the day with a group dinner at a popular local restaurant.

 

Day 7 – July 17, 2025 | Denali National Park, Alaska (B)

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of sightseeing tour of Denali National Park. Viewing the abundant wildlife that thrives in Denali will be a trip highlight. Be on the lookout for moose, black and grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep, coyotes, foxes, and possibly wolves, while bald and golden eagles soar overhead.

 

Day 8 – July 18, 2025 | Denali National Park to Anchorage, Alaska (B, D)

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Alaska Range, including Mt. McKinley, North America’s tallest peak. Visit the charming town of Willow for a tour of an Alaskan Husky dog kennel, guided by experienced Iditarod mushers sharing stories from the trail. Conclude the day in Anchorage with an included group dinner.

 

Day 9 – July 19, 2025 | Anchorage, Alaska (B, D)

Discover Anchorage, Alaska’s vibrant and scenic hub, on a city tour showcasing breathtaking views, hidden trails, unique public art, and rich green spaces. Learn about Alaska’s history and culture at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, with traditional songs, stories, and dance. Conclude the day with a group dinner, celebrating new friendships.

 

Day 10 – July 20, 2025 | Anchorage, Alaska (B)

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Anchorage Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate showcasing Alaska’s history, art, and Native cultures. Then, hop on the Anchorage Trolley Tour for a 15-mile narrated journey through the city’s historical and scenic highlights. Spend the remainder of the afternoon and evening at your leisure for last-minute shopping, dinner (on your own) and time to prepare to set sail on your cruise tomorrow!

 

Day 11 – July 21, 2025 | Whittier Alaska (Cruise Embarkation) (B, L, D)

Depart Anchorage for Girdwood and step into history with a gold-panning adventure at Crow Creek Mine, where 19th-century prospecting comes alive amidst stunning Alaskan scenery. Next, ride the Alyeska Resort Aerial Tramway for breathtaking views of mountains, forests, and glaciers, with lunch on the mountain. Finally, we’ll head to Whittier where we will board the Norwegian Jade, ready to set sail!

 

Day 12 – July 22, 2025 | Cruising the Hubbard Glacier, Alaska (B, L, D)

Today we’ll cruise along the famed Hubbard Glacier, North America’s largest tidewater glacier with a breathtaking turquoise face rising nearly 400 feet above water. This glacier stretches six miles wide at the ocean’s edge and spans 76 miles in length with towering icebergs adding to the grandeur. Be on the lookout for diverse wildlife, including bald eagles, harbor seals, orcas, and humpback whales today!

 

Day 13 – July 23, 2025 | Icy Strait Point (B, L, D)

Explore where the north wind doesn’t blow at Icy Strait Point, a haven for adventurous souls. In this wildlife rich destination, nature surpasses humanity in abundance. It’s a thrilling getaway, offering an unmatched adventure. Embark on a cruise from Icy Strait Point with Norwegian Cruise Line, immersing yourself in Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes and a myriad of excursion possibilities.

 

Day 14 – July 24, 2025 | Juneau, Alaska (B, L, D)

Juneau, “Alaska’s peak experience,” boasts stunning glacier views in Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau Icefields, and Glacier Bay National Park. Perhaps take an optional excursion like kayaking, flightseeing, gold panning or even taking the 12-mile journey to the majestic Mendenhall Glacier—a worthwhile adventure.

 

Day 15 – July 25, 2025 | Skagway, Alaska (B, L, D)

In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travellers come in search of other riches – to experience yesteryear along Skagway’s charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days.

 

Day 16 – July 26, 2025 | Ketchikan (Ward Cove), Alaska (B, L, D)

Thanks to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world’s most lush wilderness. Its Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means “spread wings of the eagle.” Chances are you’ll see one of these magnificent birds perched atop a Sitka tree during your Alaska cruise to Ketchikan (Ward Cove).

 

Day 17 – July 27, 2025 | Cruising the Inside Passage (B, L, D)

Get ready for amazing views and wildlife like nowhere else as you sail through the islands of Alaska’s Inside Passage. Shaped by the staggering force of massive glaciers millions of years ago, Alaska’s Inside Passage stretches 500 miles along the Pacific Ocean and boasts wildlife-filled fjords, tidewater glaciers, and lush island scenery. Watch for wildlife and savour every moment of your last day on board.

 

Day 18 – July 28, 2025 | Vancouver, British Columbia (B)

Welcome to Vancouver – a city that blends big-city sophistication with small-town charm. We will disembark this morning and depart for Vancouver airport where we will board our return flight home to Toronto! Upon arrival in Toronto, our coach awaits to return us to our original pickup locations!

Please note that this is a very active tour. This land portion of this trip includes long days and changes hotels nightly. We suggest you are able to: Walk 4-5 km over the course of a day with no problem, can partake in a two hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to 3km (with included breaks), handle a variety of terrains, from light nature trails to gravel pathways to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. This tour is not suitable for those with limited mobility.
